We serve students in grades 6 – 12 from throughout the state of Vermont who have been unsuccessful in traditional school settings because of emotional or behavioral problems.

These are young people who are at risk for failure in a mainstream academic setting because they may be disruptive or combative, behaviors that interfere with their education and the education and sometimes the safety of their classmates.

This type of behavior can stem from many different causes, but whatever the reason the result is students who need additional help with both learning and life skills.

Through partnerships with school districts, The Mill School expands on and enhance educational opportunities for challenged students.

We serve students whose educational experience is impacted by:

  • Emotional difficulties
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • Learning disabilities
  • Autism
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Other health impairments

Our programs begin with a positive and proactive approach that offers students the tools, resources and flexibility they need to succeed in middle school and high school experience and achieve a brighter future. It’s as much about learning how to learn as it is about academics.

The Mill School will open for the 2018-2019 school year and is now accepting applicants and inquiries.
